Who killed Wellington?

    I know Mr.Boone, Chris's father, killed Wellington because of a relationship he had with Mrs.Shears, it ended thus leading to the death. Mr.Boone is Mrs.Shears' neighbor and it was 2:00am so he must have been home. He used the pitchfork from Mrs.Shears garden and she didn't put it into her she

     I first thought he committed the crime because he's an alcoholic, tries to drink away his problems but that just leads to more problems and loss of memory."Father was sitting on the sofa watching snooker on the television and drinking scotch.There were tears coming out of his eyes"."And father was sitting down and she stood next to him and held his dad against her bosoms" which indicates that he was having a relationship with Mrs.Shears and it ended so Mr.Boone took his revenge.

     In this novel, I believe the red herring is when Mr.Boone says "Mr.Shears is evil" which to me indicates that he might have killed Wellington. Also I thought it was Mr.Shears because he might have wanted to get back at Mrs.Shears because of her relationship with Mr.Boone. But it doesn't make sense if you get back at them two years later.

     I know Mr.Boone killed Wellington because whenever Chris brought up the dog he would ignore it or say something like this:"It's a bloody dog,Christopher, a bloody dog", "leave it". Which makes me assume that he has something to do with it. Could mean that he has committed the crime and he's feeling guilty or having anxiety. When he says "Mrs.Shears is not a friend anymore.", that could mean his relationship is over with Mrs.Shears and he's sad about it because he can't "love".Meaning he has no partner and Chris doesn't like being touched or hugged, so everything he loves can't love him back. He killed the dog because of the way things ended with Mrs.Shears. Like I said before he loves to drink, so he probably committed the crime when he was drunk and late night because everyones sleeping.

With the evidence I have provided it is possible that Mr.Boone killed Wellington because of the way he responds to certain situations.This could've been prevented if both couples didn't go their "own ways" and then Wellington wouldn't have died.



 

Stress Songs

I'm not one of those people that listens to sad songs all the time. If something happens to me, school problems, personal problems anything along those lines, I listen to songs that will hype me up. The more hype the song the more confident I am in my abilities. I tend to forget about my problems so like a wise rapper once said "I ain't worried bout nothing". I avoid problems by listening to music. The song that I chose is "Jump Around" by House of Pain because it is a upbeat song that pumps me up and makes me "bust a move" if you know what I mean. I guess my favourite line is "I came to win, battle me that's a sin" because to me if you have that positive mentality and if you're hardworking, I believe you can do anything and no one can stop you, even though the songs states it's a rap battle

Friendship Comparison

Intro-In Romeo and Juliet, friendships are a very big and complex part of the play. Today modern teenagers still have some of the traits from centuries ago in Shakespeare's time. But friendships in the 21st century are better than the friendships in the 16th century.

Argument #1-Friendships now and centuries ago still follow some of the same principles like supporting friends either if they're in trouble or distressed."Be ruled by me, forget to think of her","By giving liberty unto thine eyes;Examine other beauties." In act 1 scene 1, Romeo is depressed that Rosaline isn't affectionate about him. Those quotes are from Benvolio who is trying to comfort Romeo, by telling him that there is no need to weep over one lady when there's plenty more out there. When this particular event happens now days it's the same reaction, friends comfort friends."I will stay with thee, and never from this palace of dim light depart again.Also men or boys these days don't have suicidal thoughts like Romeo.

Argument #2-  In Romeo and Juliet, friendships don't always revolve around being happy, it could also be fatal. For example; when Mercutio says "A plague o'both your houses", he says this because his friendship caused his death. If Romeo fought his own battle then Mercutio would still be alive. It relates to our time because friendships can cause a rivalry, which leads to in school brawls and in those fights people jump in trying to help.Sometimes the end result isn't pretty. But it is not as severe as the fights in Shakespeare's time.


Argument #3-friendships are better now than they were back in their time for many reasons.In Shakespeare's time, if two people were arguing, its automatically going to start a fight because fighting is the solution.In our time, there are multiple ways of stopping a brawl. Just talk it out, fight, or just simply ignore it.Also most fights won't lead to something fatal like death. Another way the 21st century is better is that friends stay together.For example, in the play Balthazar followed romeos instructions of staying outside and letting him commit suicide.Friends don't let friends commit suicide, matter of fact they would persuade them not to. Even though Balthazar admires and cares for Romeo, he shouldn't have listened to Romeo."By heaven, I will tear thee joint by joint and strew this hungry churchyard with thy limbs", "I will be gone sir, and not trouble you".Our generation we don't threaten our closest pals.


Friendships now are likely more tolerant than they were back then. In the sixteenth century they weren't tolerant, certain things could lead to death. The reason to compare them both is to show that some characteristics have improved in relationships in our time. Some of them are loyalty and honesty. 

What is love

 ("Alas, that love, so gentle in his view, Should be so tyrannous and rough in proof!") It is unfortunate that Romeo's gentle offer of love is given back by a mean tyrant. I think love can be awesome sometimes but can be a pain most of the time. Mostly I think love is alright, but I'm more ideal on banging chicks and leaving in the morning if youn know what I mean. The difference between love and just intercourse is love you need to be committed. I just want to have fun right now and worry about that later.I don't get why Romeo won't just find another girl there are so many others, he should stop chasing and being sad about Rosaline and just find another girl. I know it must be tough to not be loved by the girl you like but you have to get over it and move on. Marriage is dumb you don't need to get married, especially not now when all the girls are looking "fly". My opinion on love is FGGM.

Chorus

The chorus consists of two very wealthy and respected families in the city of Verona. Both the Monatagues and the Capulets hate each other. The two lovers which are Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet love at first sight but the families disapprove so which makes their love story unlucky. Causing the lovers to die and leaving their families in sorrow which ends the feud between the Capulets and the Montagues. It took sacrifice for them to make peace and this was the ultimate sacrifice.

Midterms

Report cards are nearby and I have to self evaluate.My attendance has been phenomenal, I haven't missed a class yet. I haven't gotten yelled at by Neuf yet either!. So I think my behaviour is good and when it comes to tasks, I am focused, do what I need to do in class.I think I deserve a 25% in this section.

Out of the 15 assignments, I have completed all assignments. The last assignment was not submitted in time.It's  important to do work because my peers can comment and help improve my work and due to my procrastination that's why I'm not giving myself a 25%, I'm Giving myself 22%

The quality of my assignments is fairly well done but it's not my best other than my tattoo assignment I actually went "H.A.M" on because I liked that assignment.So I give myself a 20%

I'm not good at commenting on people's blogs because I don't know what to comment. I help my peers with technology whenever they need help.I do like to participate in class but sometimes I just don't know what to say. That's an area I would really like to improve on.So I'm giving myself a 18%

That's a total of 85%.

To a Stranger

In my opinion the poem "To a Stranger" by Walt Whiteman is not about one person as well and there's reasons to that.

    It's not about one person because I have researched that Whitemans sexuality was described as a bisexual. I had made an assumption saying that he had lost someone very close to him but that is clearly wrong. When Walt Whiteman says "I can't talk to you, but to only think of you", I think that's an indirect message to his lover because it is the 1820's where it is unacceptable. I think that's it's written to his lover because it has been said that he    A few intimate relationships with men such as;Peter Doyle and Bill Duckett. Bill Duckett because he had actually moved in with him for several years. So there's this evidence but he also had relationships with women such as Ellen Gray. I wonder if that was just a coverup because he couldn't love the same sex openly.

 

In the line "I have somewhere surely lived a life of joy with you", to me that sounds that in a different life he could love a male openly. Basically being reincarnated.

Content

The person behind the words in the poem is saying being content is okay with him and I agree with this.

He's content with "drinking alcohol and living with whores" and waking up in cheap rooms. But he's okay with it because it's better than what he had before.He doesn't have good relationships with people but living with whores is probably the best for him.At least it is a relationship. waking up in cheap rooms and sleeping in park benches seems pretty bad. But for him it's better than home.

He wakes up looking gross but he still smiles.I think he does that because he knows that it's better than being cut up by his dad.His dad abused him as a teenager which lead to him drinking.

To make a personal connection with being content is like cleaning my room. Sure my mom doesn't like it but I'm satisfied with the way it is. It's just my style. It's like his habit of drinking, hard to stop. I can find clothes easy but my parents can't. So in a way people can't understand his drinking or living with prostitutes but he's satisfied

Interims

 Interims are going home today and we're not getting a grade so mom don't get mad. But we hand in our assignments on edmodo. edmodo is a website where the students and the teacher can interact online. We can see other classmates' blogs and comment on them. I think I'm getting a good mark because I hand in assignments on time, I participate willingly as well. I think my assignments are fairly good so that could be another reason why. But I don't want to jump to any conclusions.

Tattoo assignment

 That tattoo that I drew and chose to represent me is a lion with two flowers and a punjabi saying which will be tattooed onto my shoulder/top of my arm.

 The lion is the centre of attraction. It shows my "roots" as well as my personality. It shows my "roots" because my middle name which is Singh means lion or sher in punjabi. It shows my personality because I'm bold, brave, intelligent and also loyal. It shows intelligence because the king of the jungle cannot be dumb, shows loyalty  because a lion has its obligations which it fulfills. The lions eyes are a lime green because it's my moms favourite colour.

 The two flowers are Lilies because that's the birth flower of my sister. It's the Lilly of the valley but I thought the Lilly would look nicer. There's only two because there's only my sister and I in our family of four. The colour of my flower is a darker green because that's my favourite colour.

 The saying which is at the top and bottom of my lion is from our holy book or as we call it the "Guru Granth Sahib Ji". The saying itself means "Without fear"  which is at the top of the lion and "Without hate" at the bottom of the lion. In punjabi we would say "Nirbhau,Nirvair". I chose this line because it's what I live by. Do anything without fear without hate. It's also a reason why I'm always happy because I don't like taking time out of my life to hate, just not worth it.

 The drawing isn't as good but if I get it in the future that's what my tattoo artist will be drawing that. It'll look way better!

Extended metaphor

Definition-refers to a comparison between two unlike things that continues throughout a series of sentences in a paragraph or lines in a poem. It is often comprised of more than one sentence and sometimes consists of a full paragraph.

Example-In Imagine dragons' "demons". Dan Reynolds the lead singer compares people to darkness

-When you feel my heat

It’s where my demons hide(x2)

- it has symbolism because of the dark times he talks about. It has a hyperbole because I don't think there's such things as demons.Also a figurative speech. He talks about how people have dark times and he says that even I look normal

On the outside, I'm still as bad as everyone else. When he says "don't get to close, it's dark inside " I think that means you're more innocent than I am.

Round Character

A round character is a character that develops throughout the story. For an example Simba is one because he is the main character, the director told us his background, and his personality.

Myers-Briggs personality test

So I took the personality test yesterday and the results were pretty interesting. I am a "ENFP", the advocate. It says that I'm enthusiastic, warm which I think is true. I also think life is a special gift so make the most of out. In the second paragraph it says that I get hyped when I'm with my friends rather than being alone. I think that's correct because I hate being alone and being around my friends is what makes me feel good. The paragraph also says that I get victimized by less caring individuals. That's happened to me before. Celebrities that have the same type of personality as me are;dr.Seuss,Bill Cosby, and robin Williams. I find that very cool. Famous characters that have the same personality are Will Smith and Ariel. I'm

Shocked that I have the same personality as Ariel! For career choices I have engineer, entrepreneur and a bunch of other exciting jobs which I'm happy with. Overall, this test was amusing.

Being a teen

Being a teen has it's ups and downs. Having laid back parents is good for teens,then they don't have to argue with them. My parents are in between laid back and strict, the type of parents that let you have fun but there's a limit it to that fun. They don't always understand me. Having to go to high school is another thing too, you could either have a really good time or just despise it. For me school is in between, I'll hate it if I get bad teachers then damn. I like coming to school to see my friends and socialize. Worst part about school,the homework because some teachers assign too much and then it's so time consuming that you can't do anything else. This can also cause sleep deprivation. I don't get as many hours of sleep as I should be getting. I would say I have a lot of friends so it makes my experience at school good. I think I'm balancing my job and school pretty well. So being a teen is easy and frustrating at the same time.

English and me

English and me is like me and roti, it's a love or hate relationship. I like English but it also depends on the teacher as well. My teacher last year was very mundane which kind of made me slack and didn't get the grade I wanted. Usually I do quite well with English but I do have my days where I'm not as consistent as I would be. In grade 8 I did superbly. The teacher was tougher, but at least I didn't sleep in class like my grade 9 teacher. I like reading but the book has to be intense just like an argument with a person over messages, it's always amusing. I haven't had a problem with English yet. I'm looking forward to having this class because it will be the first to use technology everyday all day. I am

Fond of short stories and novels, but I also enjoy poetry a little. Shakespeare on the other hand is a different story. Very time consuming.I don't like the writing because it takes time for me to know what they're saying and I'll spend all my time decoding one line which makes me furious.
